Your inspiration destination!
Good morning everyone. Spring wonderful Spring! I start each day by doing dishes and yes, I love doing dishes by hand! As I look out my kitchen window I see a wonderful collection of birdhouses sometimes swinging in the tree because of these March breezes. These birdhouse have become quite the entertainment village. Two of the six houses are occupied by sparrow families. Right now they are Spring Cleaning and decorating for future little ones. Earlier when we had a drift of snow in the yard there were over ten “girls” hanging onto the wire that hangs over the birdhouses. Now these “Girls” were hoping to entice one of the male sparrows to choose one of them to join him in his house. Now Charlie the sparrow simply wasn’t interested. He is the king of his castle and none of the girls had a chance. In no time at all they were spatting and wrestling in the snow drift. This is when I thought “Oh my goodness” it is just like junior high! What fun I’m having while doing dishes and watching these charming birds.
We have just finished our “Secret Garden Schoolhouse” event at the Thimble Cottage and it was simply wonderful. Every one shared their quilts and show and tells and the teachers were very inspirational.
Keep checking the website for new items and some great ideas! Have a beautiful first day of Spring and let all of those birdies Sing! Enjoy! Pearl Louise www.thimblecottage.com
I know that I have missed a few days but I do have words to catch up! First of all the word Sweet. My charming eight year old Granddaughter is so Sweet. I have lost my Christmas list and simply had to call and ask her what she would like for Christmas. Now I did remember but I just wanted to get one more thing. During our conversation she said she would like to have a Kindle and I said, Do you mean the thing that you read books on? The answer was no Grandma I mean a Ken Doll! Aren’t words wonderful?
Perhaps you would like to make our Sweet Treats Block of the Month. Here is a pic of of one block. Each block comes with a complete pattern and recipe. Enjoy!
Read MoreI have decided to start blogging after a very long break….now mind you, it isn’t because of a vacation or anything like that. Just this great life. For instance today was my granddaughter’s school Christmas Program and yes it was magical and I do take time off to enjoy these special days. Once the program was done. I came back to the shop to do payroll and some other bookwork and then off to the bank. As I was driving down the street I saw a boy about seven years old hanging on the stop sign post and twirling around and around. I thought to myself I feel a bit like that and I don’t have a stop sign to spin around. I’m sure you know what I’m talking about.
Each day until the New Year I hope to write a bit. As I’m shopping for family and friend gifts I see many items featuring words. So each day I’m going to choose one word that I think inspires me and I hope you too!
Gratitude I am so grateful for all of the things that I have done in this life. I love to design items that make you feel that soft fun feeling that comes at this time of year. I just hope we can keep the feeling growing all year through. Each and every day let a bit of Gratitude lead the way! Enjoy! Pearl![]()
So many of you and me too are wondering where did Summer go? My darling husband and I spend many weekends at our camper on the Missouri River north of Pierre, South Dakota. The goal is fishing for walleye and we have had a great time this summer.
August brought me to Cleveland to shoot two more segments for PBS. Her is just a picture of the new set for the program It’s Sew Easy! This program should be in your area and perhaps it will be shown on Saturdays where you are. if you want to have any of these programs to be shown in your area simply ask the PBS in your area to carry these creative programs. Oh yes, I do treat myself to one yummy dessert when I travel and the Creame Brule’ was simply wonderful!!![]()

It is hard to think that over the next few weeks the weather is going to change and Fabulous Fall will be on all of our doorsteps.
While many of you are thinking Pumpkins and Witches I’m designing new stitcheries with our Glory Garden theme. I’m trying to get ready for Quilt Market in Houston but not to worry I’m also thinking and designing some very whimsical fall designs.
Have a creative beautiful day and as always Enjoy!!
